Big Hurt / Rain-Blo Campaign (circa 1993-94)

UPDATE! 8.21.07: Two-a-half years later and it would appear the story I was told was just that - a story. <laughing> :-D

As you can see from this tear-away form - this is how the jumbo cards were distributed.

Obtaining this form represents one of the big reasons why I created the website - to clear up the rumors, guesswork, and outright misinformation out there.

Note: You can see that "Ed" (the seller from whom I purchased the jumbo) selected #8 for the "poster". <laughing s'more> X-D

UPDATE (3/11/05): Another Rain-Blo Big Hurt item located!

Big Hurt / Rain-Blo Jumbo Card Redemption
The seller's auction said that he had won this
personalized "autographed picture" of Big Frank almost ten years previous. However, it was clear, even from his own auction image, that the so-called autograph was in fact a printed facsimile. I wasn't at all disappointed at the oversell and hyperbole because the item itself was my objective. And despite my cynicism, there still was a surprise waiting for me when I received it.

When I took it out of it's large toploader, I was struck at the weight of this collectible and noticed something odd - this wasn't a photograph. It's actually that of a wholly unknown and unlisted super/jumbo card.

This 8.5"W x 11"H image is printed on heavy 100pt cardstock. It's a
really beautiful card design, one that I wish wasn't covered with a preprinted inscription and facsimile signature, but what can you do?

BTW, the seller won the jumbo card by purchasing a random Rain-Blo bubblegum package from a convenience store. Opening the package he noticed there was something printed on the inside of the wrapper. It informed him that he was a lucky winner in their Big Hurt contest giveaway. Sending in the winning wrapper, his name and address printed on a 3x5 index card, plus postage costs - and this amazing supersized card was sent to you. That lucky bum, I'm so envious. <g> ;-)
