Point Of Purchase Displays
a.k.a. "P.O.P."
or "POP"
Some of
the tougher Frank collectibles are the displays provided to dealers to promote
a retail product. The POP can be as simple as a poster (sometimes mounted,
most times not), the stand-up display (often a pressprint mounted to a traditional
cardboard photo display), life-size standees (also known as stand-ups), ceiling
danglers (similar to holiday danglers), even trading card boxes can double
as POPs.
Collector's
Note: There is a special crossover collectible that I've placed into the
"Unusual" category. They're called "Gatefolds". One can
be seen here.
Here are a few Frank POPs that I've located. I've broken them down into the
following general categories:
Posters, Stand-Ups Displays/Life-Size Standees, and Specific POP Displays
(Danglers, etc). I decided against trading card boxes as they're not
specifically tasked as POPs. I have however created a page for them here.
Please note that I'm continually updating this page as I continue to hunt
for and locate more POP Displays.

One of the tougher retail posters to locate. And despite the fact that I dislike this particular effort by Peter Max, the retail poster created to showcase this insert is very nice. A tribute to the graphic designer rather than the artist. |
