Big
Frank is congratulated
by his teammates
after hitting the game winning walkoff home run, late in the 11th inning against
the Halos.

Here are a few of Frank's other fansites or baseball websites featuring some element of Frank's life:

Very
nice Big Hurt collection - and he's just starting to fill-out those pages!
Great stuff Justin!
Also
noted as one of the most touching reasons I've ever heard ascribed as
to 'why' one fan collects Big Frank.
I
won't get all mushy & sentimental - but it'll make you do a gut-check.
MrWhiteSox30.
Arguably the top collector of Chisox material on the web. (EB - Sorry,
I thought you had decided not to collect Big Frank when you parted ways
with most of your top Frank material - until I saw your most recent activity)
Also one of the sharpest Photobucket sites out there - bar none. Tim's Big Hurt Page. A brief website, but he's just starting out and I respect his broad approach to collecting by trading. thefatguyjj. Sorry, I'm not making fun, that's what he calls himself. Nice Photobucket site. LOVE that he went and contacted the realtor handling the sale of Frank's former Chitown home. Awesome dedication! aekdb171. Another great Frank website!
Methodman's
Photobucket. Great stuff GB! Noted for having some amazing images
taken while attending games at Rogers Centre, Toronto. dmb171vw. 'nother Photobucket in the works.
BIGHURT'S/Frank
Thomas Page. One of the better pages I've seen dedicated to Frank.
This fan really knows his stuff. The only drawback is that he hasn't
updated the page since the 1998-99 season. Also notable for having (to
the best of my knowledge & research) the oldest eBay account noted
as a Big Hurt fan - eBay ID: "bighurt" - 9 Years 5 Months as
of February 2007. Strangely his "About Me" page which links
to the above Thomas Bio Page is, for all intents and purposes, inactive.
Yet his current auctions are ongoing. Bryan's Frank Thomas Page. Mostly a wantlist but also a fan who put in the time. Please note that he lists a card that does not exist: The "1987 Auburn Police Card #2" - I've researched this for over a year - and this card does not exist. There are several police sponsored issues in 1987 but none feature Frank. Additionally, the only minor-league Auburn issue for that year is for the Auburn Astros - a Class A affiliate for the Houston Astros. I should point out that he probably mistook this issue for the 1987 Auburn Tigers Issue (a collegiate issue), which was partially distributed through the Opelika, Alabama Police Department. Finally, he makes several errors on issues and card numbers, but I want to emphasize that he's a fellow fan so we should support his site. :-) Steve's Frank Thomas Collection Page. Like Bryan's page, it's more of a wantlist and trade page, but another genuine fan. |
| Blogs Known Frank Collectors on eBay. Over the years I tended to notice the same group of fans bidding for the same Frank collectibles. For fun, I've collected their eBay IDs so that you know who your fellow fans are on the world's biggest auction site. Beckett's Super Collector of September 2002. The only Frank collector (I believe) that was ever featured in the price guide. Please note that I stopped purchasing the guide a few years back. Scott Long's Blog. on the beta "BaseballToaster" site generated some interesting comments. |
| Professional PSA's Registry Pages. Showcases several Frank collectors who specialize in PSA-only graded cards. Although some of the statements made by the collectors there are stunningly... umm.... let's say: self-assured, and leave it at that. Additionally, their "master lists of all known Frank Thomas cards" are surprisingly incomplete. Still, they collect Big Frank - how bad could they really be? <wink> ;-) Baseball-Reference.com's "The Bullpen". The best career overview, up-to-date analysis, and subjective comparison page of Frank I've ever seen. I constantly refer to it whenever I get into a discussion about whether or not Big Frank is heading for The Hall. Please - he's a lock right now. Period. And he's still hitting home runs! Disagree? Check out the site and sit back down. Jockbio's Frank Thomas Page. Awesome page - which helped better define and refine my own summation found at "Climbing Toward Cooperstown". Oakland A's Player Info Great background material on The Big Hurt. BaseballLibrary.com Not really a fansite in the truest sense of the word, but it's an excellent page with a very in-depth review of Frank's career, covering his time from high school up to the present. |

I've also found a couple of other pages under the guise of a Frank fansite but they were only about selling you something. There's one that keeps popping up calling itself a "Frank Thomas Fan Home Page" but there's nothing, absolutely nothing there. Unbelievably, it's mostly made up of some self-aggrandizing arrogant crap about who he is and what he's accomplished (which ain't much). Then, if you still haven't vomited from his sheer arrogance, he actually has the nerve to try and sell you something! I won't list the site since, by definition, adding the URL address here would increase traffic and justifying his b.s. creation. The ones I listed above have something genuine to say and I hope you'll find them useful, fun, or interesting as I did.
UPDATE (7/04/06): Just as I finally got this version of the website up and running - I found that 5 of the pages I used to have linked here are no longer valid. It's too bad too since all of them were quite useful for the fans of Frank. Oh well... <shrug>
