Upper Deck "5th Anniversary" Sheet (8-1/2"W x 11"H)
Mistakenly called the "Shimano Sheet" (a Japanese industrial company
thought to have co-sponsored the UD show where these were given out) This is
surprisingly tough to get ahold of - despite several thousand likely to exist.
(BTW, I had to "air" my copy out for more than two weeks before I
could store it in a toploader - the guy who sold it to me was a smoker - whew)
Also, notice that Frank's "Williams Best Hitters" card has a gold
border. I searched for more than six years trying to see if this was ever produced,
and to the best of my knowledge it was only graphically created for this sheet,
no actual card was ever produced.
Collector's
Note: There is another 1993 Upper Deck commemorative sheet with Frank
Thomas - but it features the Frank Thomas who played with the Pittsburgh
Pirates in the 1950's. If you're in the market for one seen above and a scan/picture
is not available, make sure to ask for a list of the other players on the sheet
in order to confirm which one is being sold. I made this mistake once and would
like to save you from the same grief.
