And due to the huge amount of Big Hurt material that falls into this category - as some point in the distant future I'll attempt to create a checklist for just these items. But it's still quite far down the line and I won't tackle it until I work on & complete the checklist years. (3/4/07)

1998 Pinnacle Inside Stand-Up Guys Samples
There were three (3) dual-card sets numbered: 5AB/CD, 22AB/CD, and 25AB/CD which feature The Big Hurt. Seen above is set 5AB/CD. Fairly difficult in terms of collectibility since these were given out one cellophane bagged set per dealer order form. Adding to the difficulty - they were issued during the volatile Pinnacle Brands bankruptcy year of 1998.

1994 Topps Superstar Samplers 3-Card Set
Unusual set of insert promos with an interesting history. In 1994 Topps decided to promote their other emerging "premium" lines (Finest, Bowman, and Stadium Club) by inserting samples into their Baseball "Baker's Dozen" Factory Sets. Sold primarily thru big box retailers - each Baker's Dozen factory set had one set of Superstar Samplers enclosed within the box.

You can identify the Superstar Samplers by the imprinted logo found on the card backs. (see scans above)

Collector's Note: If you're going to be doing this via factory box purchase - look carefully to see that the Factory Set being sold has the preprinted starburst which specifically lists the Superstar Samplers as being included. Why? Because Topps also created 'regular' annual factory sets which did not contain the cellophane package of 3 cards. Also, make sure that the box is still factory sealed - there are some tricky dealers/collectors who will search the box, remove the set, or replace it with one of lower value.
