Do you trade?
That depends greatly on whether or not I have the time to communicate with you. Trading, if you're not familiar with the process, is extremely time consuming. As a small business owner I honestly don't have loads of free time to chat - much to my regret. What free time I do have I 'spend' carefully and judiciously, taking care of the most important aspects of life. Unfortunately, trading is pretty low on that list. Please note that I have nothing against trading; when I was a newbie collector in my twenties I did a lot of it. But as you get older things tends to get more complicated, and you have to focus your limited time & energy.
Additionally, I would have to break one of my own cardinal rules: Be selective with whom you share your checklist. (see Collector's Tips) Trading means you have to share that list with just about anyone and everyone - and I don't do that as a rule.
Also, many collectors who primarily trade are often more interested in what they can get from you, not what they have for you. That's not every collector/trader out there - but it's a simple truth.
Finally, I should say that it never hurts to ask. So, while I make no promises, if you have a Frank collectible and I have something you might want, I'll try to work it into my schedule. Again, I make no promises. If I don't have the time, I honestly don't have the time.
