Do you subscribe to the "Beckett Conspiracy Theory"?
The truth is: That depends on when you're asking me.
As a general rule I think conspiracies are the foundation which crazies build their 'special' worlds. <lol>
But Beckett intentionally
glosses over or eliminates the listings for extremely rare items like: The 1997
Topps Proshooters Checklist Cards or The 1998 Pinnacle Bankruptcy issues. And
look at the downward trend for almost every early Promotional/Sample issue from
the 1990's. And I'm not just talking about us Frank collectors being affected.
These eliminations affects collectors who deal in Griff, Ripken, Steroid Bonds,
McGwire, I mean everyone. I don't know. Something's not right. Not right
at all.
Check out this list of the "missing".
And Beckett employees, while undoubtedly professionals, are still human beings. And humans can, and will, greedily conspire if given the opportunity. I realize that's a cynical perspective, but I'm 42 years old and no longer hold any illusions about what crimes some people will or will not commit. (there isn't a limit)
So it really depends on when you're asking me.
